This is an R3 engine I built from scratch for a customer in Detroit. I call it the "Solanki
R3" as the engine has my custom made heads along with aftermarket internals I have had produced. I started out
with a service full flow block (clover leaf block) that was sonic tested and good to 0.120" overbore, while still having
a minimum of 0.179" wall thickness in the worst bore which was #8. I ended up boring it to 0.093" overbore,
which gives me 304.5 cubic inches. My Howards rods were used along with forged pistons custom made by Ross. Total
seal rings along with home made reproduction R3 heads were used with R3 sized valves. This engine has standard 2"
Chevy bearings and 0.010" Studebaker main bearings. The camshaft is a reground R2 cam with a net lift of 0.488"
ground by a Reed performance cams. This engine is estimated to produce 430-445 horsepower and will be dynoed as soon
as I get a set of downpipes built for the dyno. I will post the results here. Enjoy the pictures!
